Mill Creek Turkey Calls

Score Your Turkey

The NWTF has developed a formula for scoring trophy gobblers.

1.  First, measure the birds live (undressed) weight to the nearest ounce
     (Make sure it is a certified scale   if you want to submit it to the NWTF).

2. Then measure the birds beard to the nearest 1/16 of an inch from the
     point of protrusion from the breast to the tip of the longest bristle.

    If a bird
has multiple beards it is considered a Non-typical.
    Its score is calculated by using  sum of all the beards' lengths.

3. Finally, measure along the outside curve of each spur to the nearest 1/16 of an inch.
   The measurements are then plugged into the following equation.

    Score = [Weight] + [2 X Length of Beard(s)] + [10 X  (Right Spur Length + Left Spur Length)]
          You can calculate your score by filling out the form below using numbers with decimals.
